Our Story

Who We Are

The Cognitive Compass Foundation began in April 2023 as FH&H Group, a youth-led nonprofit organization committed to fighting hunger and homelessness through fundraisers, school supply drives, and other initiatives to enhance educational equity.

However, by late 2023, our Founder and President’s research in neuroscience and volunteer work with seniors revealed another urgent need: cognitive health. Seniors facing dementia are at higher risk of isolation and homelessness, and supporting their mental well-being became the organization’s new focus. In Fall 2024, the nonprofit was rebranded as the Cognitive Compass Foundation, with a mission to advance dementia awareness, early detection, and cognitive wellness worldwide.

Today, we offer dementia screenings in English, Spanish, and Mandarin, run memory wellness workshops and intergenerational activities for seniors, and recruit multilingual volunteers in both the United States and China. We are also developing a Mini-Cog web app that utilizes data science tools to help track memory changes over time, empowering seniors and their families with resources for healthier aging.
